Ten student athletes from Genesee Community College were honored as 2011-2012 NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Awards winners.
The NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Awards were previously known as NJCAA Academic All-American honors. The NJCAA has renamed its academic awards program to the following:
NJCAA Pinnacle Award for Academic Excellence (4.00 GPA on a 4.00 scale)
NJCAA Award for Superior Academic Achievement (3.80 to 3.99 on a 4.00 scale)
NJCAA Award for Exemplary Academic Achievement (3.60 to 3.79 on a 4.00 scale)
Lindsay Chatt was named an NJCAA Pinnacle Award Winner. Chatt was a member of the women’s softball team.
Rachel Kohlhagen, a member of the women’s basketball team and Shunsuke Sugimoto, a member of the baseball team, were named NJCAA Award for Superior Academic Achievement winners.
Amanda Brown, a member of the women’s soccer team, Lauren Hughes, a member of the volleyball and swimming and diving teams, Corey Kocent, a member of the golf team, Nicole Laird, a member of the women’s basketball team, Emily Mott, a member of the swimming and diving team and Brandon Schwab, a member of the swimming and diving team, were all named NJCAA Award for Exemplary Academic Achievement winners.
