    Golf: NJCAA National Tournament

    Genesee Community College golfer Corey Kocent (Batavia, NY) finished in 18th place at this year's NJCAA Division III National Golf Tournament held at Chautauqua Golf Club in Chautauqua, NY.

    Kocent finished the tournament +24 with rounds of 79, 82, 75 and 76. He was the only member of the GCC golf team to qualify for the national tournament this year.

    The individual pace was set by tournament medalist Shane Dobesh of Monroe Community College who finished two-over par with rounds of 73, 74, 72 and 71.

    Minnesota State Community and Technical College claimed the team title with a combined score of +72, beating out the host team, Jamestown Community College, who finished at +90. Louisburg College (N.C.) rounded out the top-three with a team total of +92.

    A total of 88 golfers participated in the NJCAA Division III National Golf Tournament this year which ran from June 5-8.
