Women's Lacrosse loses to Mohawk Valley

The Genesee Community College women’s lacrosse team dropped a Saturday afternoon contest to visiting Mohawk Valley Community College, 22-7.

The Lady Hawks scored the first four goals of the game before Anna Modera found the back of the net to put Genesee on the board. Mohawk Valley answered with four straight goals before Modera cashed in back-to-back tallies to cut the Lady Hawks lead to 8-3. Genesee then surrendered nine unanswered goals to end the half and trailed 17-3 at the intermission.

Mohawk Valley extended their lead to 21-3 in the second half before Modera scored her fourth goal of the game with about five minutes remaining. Arielle Lambert and Hikaru Kishimoto each added late goals for Genesee, but the deficit was too large and the Lady Cougars fall to 0-7 on the season.

Modera finished the game with five goals and Sarah Bosa made five saves in net.

Genesee will play again on Wednesday when they host Erie Community College at 4pm.
