
The #4 Genesee Community College men's lacrosse team had their nine-game winning streak snapped at #3 Community College of Baltimore County-Essex on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Knights 13-11.
The Cougars started out in a hole trailing 4-1 after the first quarter. The team fought back to within two at the half, trailing 7-5. They could not close the gap in the second half, trailing 10-8 after the third quarter and twice getting to within a goal in the fourth quarter, but could not get the equalizer.
The midfield had a big day. Marcus Palvino scored five goals and had an assist, Spencer Halliwell-Allen scored three goals and had three assists and Chip Chapman scored a goal and added two assists. Saxon Weil also added a goal.
At attack, Jon Gill had one goal and Connor Latimer scored twice.
Brady Lawrence played a great game in net with 20 saves.
Joe Pedro led the team with seven ground balls and added an assist.
Genesee (9-2) will play again on Monday night against Mohawk Valley Community College at 7pm.
