Men's Basketball Team Wins Season Opener

Our Men's Basketball Team played yesterday at home to open the winter season defeating Niagara College of Canada. The Cougars overcame first half jitters going into half time tied 39-39 before dominating the second half on their way to an easy 90-65 win.

The Cougars were led by Leon Nelson (Buffalo, NY) with a double-double for the night scoring 33 points, grabbing 21 rebounds and 4 blocks. Terrell Rankin (Buffalo, NY) had the hot hand in the second half scoring 21 of his 23 points. Quintin Redfern (Cheektowaga, NY) made it easy for Leon and Terrell with stellar passing finishing with 18 assists.

The team's next games are this weekend as they host the Genesee Community College Tip-Off Tournament to be held at Batavia High School. Genesee plays Friday in the first round at 8:00pm vs. Community College of Beaver County!
