The GCC Soccer programs are both on the road this Saturday during Region III Tournament play.

The Women’s team advanced to the Region III Division III Pool A finals with a 7-6 penalty kick victory over Alfred State this past Tuesday. Kelsey Traxler (Lyndonville, NY) netted the game winner for GCC as Alfred State’s attempt to tie the game rang off the crossbar. The Lady Cougars take the field at 12pm versus Herkimer CC in the finals at Tompkins Cortland CC.

The Men’s team will travel to Hudson Valley CC to take on the Vikings in the opening round of the Region III Division III Tournament after defeating Cayuga CC 5-2 in their final regular season game. Dan Kocyigit recorded the hat trick with two assists from Ger Myles and one from Aaron O’Connor, while Dave Farabella scored the Cougars third goal off an assist from Ryan Winchip and Andy Hagen netted the Cougars fifth. Game time for the first round game is 2pm.
