    Athlete of the Week

    Genesee Baseball sweeps Jamestown CC in Western New York Athletic Conference action!

    The GCC Cougars baseball team improved their WNYAC record to 2-2 with a sweep of Jamestown CC on Sunday at Dwyer Stadium, moving their overall record to 3-6 this fall.

     

    In the opening game Ed Kohout pitched a complete game shutout with seven strikeouts for the Cougars as they defeated JCC 1-0. Leading GCC at the plate was Mike Hackett and John Polinious, who each went 1-2. Hackett also reached base with a walk.

    In the second game Zach Leitten earned the win on the mound allowing only one hit and two runs over five innings. Shayne Herold recorded the save pitching two strong innings allowing one hit, while also going 3-4 with a walk at the plate to lead the offense. Mike Hackett contributed 2 hits including a double respectively.

     

    Jamestown CC falls to 4-6 in WNYAC play following the sweep. Genesee’s next game is at Dwyer Stadium on Tuesday night for one nine inning game starting at 6pm.
