    Athlete of the Week

    Genesee Women’s Soccer Wins Big Over Mercyhurst NE

    The Lady Cougars opened their fall season yesterday at home against the Lady Saints of Mercyhurst NE. Genesee came out very strong looking to score at every opportunity. Within the first twenty minutes of the game the score was 2-0 and by half Genesee had taken a 4-0 lead. The Lady Cougars were led by first year players Ali Cashmore who scored 2 goals, and Catherine Mucha who scored 1 goal and had 1 assist. Sophomore captains Dzindzi Wade and Jessie Jaszko also contributed to the win; Wade with one goal and Jaszko with 2 assists. The game ended with a final score of 5-0.

    The Lady Cougars will be back in action Saturday September 4th at 1:00pm against Broome Community College at GCC.
