The growth of jobs in the environmental field is driven by public policy, which compels companies and organizations to meet environmental laws and regulations. Understanding the issues involved in protecting the environment such as degradation, conservation, recycling, and replenishment-are central to the work of people in the environmental field.
Please Note: The Environmental Studies A.S. program is no longer accepting new students and will be discontinued after Spring 2019. Current students will be able to complete the program since no courses are changing or being dropped. We are awaiting for approval of a new Liberal Arts and Science: Natural Sciences, A.S. degree which has a concentration in Environmental Biology. As an alternative, students interested in Environmental Sciences can still follow the current Liberal Arts and Science : Math and Science, A.S. degree and choose BIO111 Ecology as an elective.
