Transfer and Career Opportunities

Transfer Opportunities

There are two basic types of academic transfer opportunities; articulation and joint admission agreements.

  1. An articulation agreement defines requirements for students who wish to transfer their Genesee Community College credits to a particular program in another college to pursue another degree. Institutions independently determine all of the requirements for their programs, making every articulation agreement unique to each college or university. You are strongly encouraged to visit Genesee's Career and Transfer Center in your first semester to help ensure a smooth transfer to the college of your choice.
  2. A joint admissions agreement, sometimes called two-plus-two or cooperated degree program, guarantees you will be accepted into a specific program at a particular institution upon completion of your Associate's degree. Genesee also has a selection of 1+1 and 3+1 agreements in special program areas that are similar in nature to the joint admission agreement.
