Computer Information Systems
Over the next decade, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a high demand for people with skills in computer and information systems, database and network management, and other technology-oriented tasks.
Genesee's Computer Information Systems curriculum will provide you with the first two years of a baccalaureate, computer information systems degree. Your work in the College's expanded microcomputer and mainframe facilities, classrooms and laboratories will give you the extensive experience necessary for further study at the baccalaureate level.
Students who graduate from the program can consider transferring to programs in computer systems information, management information systems, data base administration, telecommunications and other computer-related disciplines.
More than 50 percent of this program may be taken in a distance learning format.
Prerequisites: Four units of high-school English, three units of social studies, two units of science, and at least two years of college-preparatory mathematics.
Transfer to a four-year baccalaureate degree program in:
- Computer Information Systems
- Management Information Systems
- Database Administration
- Other computer-related disciplines
Currently, Genesee holds 2+2 joint admission agreements with 10 area public and private four-year colleges including, SUNY Buffalo State, SUNY Brockport and St. John Fisher.
