OFT116 - Medical Terminology
Credits: 3

Catalog Description: Analyzes and applies comprehensive study of medical word to the continual learning of new terminology. Includes root words, prefixes, suffixes, and emphasis on the newly learned words in a variety of exercise formats. Medical terminology skills may be applied to various allied health fields.

Lecture: 3 hrs.

Course Student Learning Outcomes (CSLOs):
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge and skills:

1.Demonstrate an understanding of basic medical root words, prefixes, and suffixes with 96% accuracy on semester exercises.

2.Apply medical terminology to various health care situations with 96% accuracy as documented on semester exercises.

3.Apply medical terminology to all body systems with 96% accuracy as documented on semester exercises.

4.Utilize correct spelling of medical terminology terms in semester activities on tests with 96% accuracy.***

5.Apply definitions of medical terminology terms to semester activities and tests with 96% accuracy.***
