|EDF221 - Instructional Design 2|
Catalog Description: Examines technology options that may be used delivering coursework to students. Explores the use of a course management system, a substantive portion of the course. Reviews additional technology options, including but not limited to: social networking, audio and video. Includes production or revision of a course. Prerequisite: EDF 211 or permission of instructor.
Lecture: 3 hrs.
Course Student Learning Outcomes (CSLOs):
By the end of this course, through class discussions, demonstrations, oral or written reports and a capstone project, students will be able to:
1.Evaluate the assessment tools inside a course management system and explain how each may or may not be appropriate in the course being redesigned.
2.Use the gradebook in the course management system to correctly give a student's grade for the course.
3.Participate in at least two social networking systems and explain how each may or may not be appropriate for the course being redesigned.
4.Using either audio or video tools, create course material for at least 2 hours of learning appropriate for the course being redesigned
5.Prepare technology based content and assessment of student learning for a unit of study; explain which technology options were selected in preparing the learning activities and assessment of student learning.*
* This course objective has been identified as a student learning outcome that must be formally assessed as part of the Comprehensive Assessment Plan of the college. All faculty teaching this course must collect the required data and submit the required analysis and documentation at the conclusion of the semester to the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment.
