PED247 - Competitive Men's Swimming Fundamentals 2
Credits: 2

Catalog Description: Focuses on advanced swimming skill development, competition techniques and strategy for highly skilled, second-year participants in competitive men's swimming. Prerequisite: PED 214.

Lecture: 3 hrs.

Student Performance Outcomes:
Based upon course examinations, class discussions, presentations, activities, and written assignments, students will be able to:

A. Successfully score a minimum of 80% on a final exam demonstrating knowledge
of the strategies of competitive men's swimming and diving.

B. *Select either a stroke or event race strategy and write a 3 to 5 page paper demonstrating knowledge of the selected topic.

C. Design and submit an off season conditioning program.

*This course objective has been identified as a student learning outcome that must be formally assessed as part of the College's Comprehensive Assessment Plan. All faculty teaching this course must collect the required data (see Assessing Student Learning Outcomes form) and submit the required analysis and documentation at the conclusion of the semester to the Office of Assessment and Special Projects.
