PED152 - Beginning Badminton
Credits: 1

Catalog Description: Develops game skills and court strategies for match play in singles and doubles for beginning and advanced players. One and one-half class hours.

Lecture: 1.5 hrs.

Student Performance Outcomes:
Based upon course examinations, class discussions, presentations, activities, and written assignments, students will be able to:

1. *Demonstrate a successful overhead and backhand swing over the net to a target a minimum of 3 out of 5 attempts.
2. Identify all the designated course terminology associated with the game of badminton.
3. Identify a minimum of 5 differences in the rules of a singles and doubles game.
4. Identify at least 2 offensive and defensive strategies for singles and doubles games.

*This course objective has been identified as a student learning outcome that must be formally assessed as part of the College's Comprehensive Assessment Plan. All faculty teaching this course must collect the required date (see Assessing Student Learning Outcomes form) and submit the required analysis and documentation at the conclusion of the semester to the Office of Assessment and Special Projects.
