COM211 - Advanced Video Production
Credits: 3

Catalog Description: Develops video production techniques using the college's media facility and equipment, operating video production and post-production equipment to create effective visual communication. Two class hours, two laboratory hours. Prerequisite: COM111.

Lecture: 2 hrs.
Lab: 2 hrs.

Student Performance Outcomes:
At the successful completion of this course, students will be able to demonstrate the following, orally, in writing, or through independent completion of projects:

1. Knowledge of the video production process: planning, production and post-production

2. Operating of portable video production equipment.

3. Basic working knowledge of video editing equipment.

4. Application of specified aesthetic principles to the editing process.

5. Analysis and explanation of the role of the director.

6. Proficiency in graphics and special effects for video production

7. *Sufficient knowledge in editing as documented through the completion of class projects.

8. Practical experience in electronics news gathering and electronic field productions.
