Technical Specialist/Science Laboratory Technician

There is an opening for a part-time (19.5 hours/week) Technical Specialist/Science Laboratory Technician to provide assistance in maintenance of science laboratory facilities, equipment and materials; the acquisition, storage and security of materials; and the advance preparation of materials for student use in the in laboratory.  Afternoon and early evening hours are required.

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in science or technically related field including coursework preferably in biology or chemistry.  Preference given to those with a Masters Degree and/or experience in science laboratory maintenance and materials preparation.  Microcomputer applications experience and experience in microbiology techniques, particularly media and culture preparation, and the maintenance of aquaria and potted plants highly recommended.  Sterilization techniques are desirable.
