The Distance Learning Office is located on the first loor of the Technology building. At Genesee, distance learning involves two types of course delivery methods: asynchronous and synchronous. Asynchronous courses can be online or telecourses, where students use a mix of specialized software, videos, books, and the Internet to work with the instructor and each other at different times, according to their schedules. In synchronous courses participants are in different physical locations, but connect and communicate during the same time period using distance learning classrooms and video conferencing.

Genesee has video conferencing equipment in all campus locations, and four designated distance classrooms - two in Batavia, one in Warsaw, and one in Dansville. Genesee offers students over 50 distance courses each semester.
