Eighth Annual (2009) GCC Student Poetry Contest

The Alfred C. O’Connell Library Proudly Presented The Eighth Annual GCC Student Poetry Contest

The Library welcomed entries of all types and lengths of original poetry and awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes in a general open category, a Best Body of Work honorable mention and two Math poem prizes.

Guidelines:

  • Entrants must be students currently registered at Genesee Community College.
  • Limit of three (3) entries per person
  • Entries must be submitted electronically:
    1. Include your name, major, GCC email address, mailing address and hometown.
    2. Send your entries via email to: AWhitehead@genesee.edu
    3. Subject line of your email must read: Student Poetry Contest.
    4. The Library is not responsible for losses in formatting.

Deadline was 4 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2009.

[Contest is now closed. Poems will no longer be accepted for this year's contest.]

The library maintains the right to publish all entries.

Winning Poets were honored at a special ceremony on Thursday, April 16, 2009.
