MAT 137: Calculus for Business
Covers the principal concepts of differential and integral calculus as they relate to business applications. Students will study functions (inlcuding exponential and logarithmic), limits, differentiation, and integration. Emphasis will be placed upon the use of calculus in solving problems from the fields of business & economics.
Pre-requisite: MAT 136 or MAT 140 with a grade of C or better(or by permission of instructor).

Notes:
The tests given in this course MUST be taken in a proctored setting which means:
1. At a GCC location (CAP Testing on the Batavia campus or at any of GCC’s Campus Centers). OR
2. At an actual Testing Center at an accredited college. (This option requires you to locate the testing center; ask for and receive permission to use the center for this course; provide the professor with the name(s) of the contact person(s), their official college title, official college mailing address and email address, and
official college phone number(s).)
This information must be provided within the first week as part of the Introductory Assignment. OR
3. Only under VERY unusual circumstances will a student be allowed to have a proctoring situation that is different than those described above. You must contact the professor during the first three days of the semester to see if this will be allowed.
If you are unable to take the tests in one of these proctored situations, then you should withdraw from this course ASAP.
